Adding Order Entry Document Memos
Purpose
In addition to manually creating memos on Order Entry documents, Memos in COSTAR can be
preformatted, stored, and added as part of a Kit assigned to a Product Type, Item, Service Code or
Special Item for use in Order Entry Documents.
Creating a new Preset Memo
To create a new Memo, open COSTAR and;
Select Settings
Select Order Entry Options
- Select Memos and Messages
- Click on Memo Maintenance
- Click on Add New
You will now need to give your memo a quick type code, for example TWN, and what the memo will display.
Click on Back to save the memo
Using the Order Entry Memo
To add the new memo onto a repair order, go to
- Order Entry
- Click on Repair Order
- Open the customer document
- Click on the Magnifying Glass
- Select Messages
- Select your created message
Alternatively, you can type M and the code in the item number field to populate the message. For example M TWN for the message above and then click off the line
